IMAP program is designed to cultivate international high-end applied specialists who possess solid basic theory and broad professional knowledge in the field of Engineering Psychology, strong ability to solve practical problems, can undertake professional technology or management, and have remarkable professional accomplishment and innovation and entrepreneurship.

Mutual selection is adopted for students and mentors. Each student will select 1 mentor and carry out subject research and practice with the mentor on daily basis. The training process mainly focuses on course learning and subject practice, supplemented by workshops and comprehensive case analysis reports, with emphasis placed on the following sections:

1.Course learning

Course learning shall be carried out by means of professor lecture, expert seminar, case analysis, classroom report and discussion, report writing, self-study and the combination of online and offline learning. The mentor group is set up to adopt a combination of collective and individual training. The mentor group shall be composed of professors with at least a Master degree, and invite senior management or personnel with senior professional or technical positions from enterprises and public institutes.

2.Learning + practice

Learning + practice shall attach importance to strengthening practical teaching, focusing on the cultivation of practical ability of combining theory with practice. It shall enhance links and exchanges between teaching and practice, highlight the exchanges with social organizations and trade associations, and employ senior managers and experts from enterprises and public administrations to participate in teaching and training. Specifically, it includes in-class lecture, overseas exchanges training, among others.

3.International academic support

  Leveraging on the international disciplinary advantages of the Department of Psychology of Tsinghua University, the University of California, Berkeley, University of Michigan, Stanford and other top universities will carry out short-term visits so that students can broaden their international vision and thinking.


4.Thesis requirements

Thesis shall emphasize the application of theories and methods learned to solve practical problems, including real-world case analysis and problem-solving practice. It will also pay attention to improving students’ ability to analyze and solve practical problems.
